For some of us numbers can be fun. Especially when they give you actionable information, like the numbers generated throughout SyncHR’s HCM software. What makes numbers not fun is when they’re added to the end of product versions. Rev 11.4.3.5.1 just doesn’t have that great of a ring to it. But naming product releases after objects – now that’s fun.
With our headquarters now located in Colorado we thought we’d choose something local and plentiful. With so many regular product enhancements we’ll be going through a lot of names so naturally we landed on mountains. They’re huge, abundant, and give us a chance to Google them to confirm just how awesome they are. Plus, there are plenty near our other offices in California and Sofia, Bulgaria, too.
So without further ado, the name of our newest product release is…
Pikes Peak!!!
Pikes Peak is one of the more recognizable mountains in Colorado so it seemed logical to start there. Coincidentally Pikes Peak also has many fun facts. For example, did you know starting on March 25, 1929, Bill Williams from Hondo, Texas spent 21 days on the Pikes Peak Highway pushing a peanut to the summit with his nose. Now that’s commitment.
That’s just one of the many fun facts about Pikes Peak. Okay last one – the Colorado state legislature passed a law in 1978 requiring the use of “Pikes Peak” instead of “Pike’s Peak.” If you’re interested in more of those visit http://www.pikespeak.us.com/Learn/fun-facts.html. I personally cannot vouch for the accuracy of these stories but I’ve read on the Internet that everything on the Internet is true.
For those of you who have made it this far thinking “Enough about Mountains, what about SyncHR?” your patience is about to be rewarded.
The Pikes Peak release contains many enhancements including new and expanded flexibility for retroactive payroll processing, Affordable Care Act (ACA) reporting and partner integrations. Head on over to the press release and check it out for all of the nitty gritty details on how our awesome development teams are making your lives easier. Go on. You can Google “Pikes Peak fun facts” later.
